I graduated from Wasson and went to school at CU Boulder where I graduated with a BS in business finance in '74. I then rode a ten-speed bike to Banff, Canada and bummed around with a woman in Seattle for 2 years. I then got tired of that "scene" when she started practicing "free-love" and came back to Colo. I went back to school at CU Colo. Spgs. (Mr. Zimbrick was my geology prof.). During that summer I worked at Luth. Valley Retreat in maintainance and as a counselor (squirl). I entered the graduate program in outdoor recreation at Utah State and graduated with an MS in Outdoor recreation. At that time, Pres. Reagan cut back on hiring in the Nat'l Park service and Forest service so I worked for a year as a camp administrative apprentice at LVR. I got married in 81and lived in the 'Springs for two years and worked as a cook. We then worked as youth counselors (house parents and teachers) at a boarding school in the Dominican Republic. I continued working for the same organization at their headquarters in Marion, IN. That's how I ended up in Indiana. Since then I've picked up another Master's; this time in teaching. I currently live in the South Bend area and am a special education teacher working with emotionally handicapped/disabled kids. I love my work, I hate Indiana but like a lot of things about it that make it worthwhile. Also along the way, we had 2 beautiful girls. Robin is our 11th grade, honor student who's an avid reader, enjoys art, and plays in the marching band. Amber is our 9th grade honor student who is an artist, plays soccer, and is in the marching band. Each has made a trip to Europe this summer and last. Neither parent has done that. I'm still happily married to Janine going on 22 years.
